1.      Scholarship coverage and criteria

Anhui University sets up special funds for Scholarship for International Students. Scholarship holders who pass the annual assessment are allowed to be supported till graduation on schedule.

Scholarship consists of tuition fee which is exempted directly by University and living expenses which are granted monthly.

2.      Specialties Granted

3.      Eligibility:

The applicant must:

1)      Be a citizen of non-Chinese nationality in good health, without criminal records;

2)      Meet entry requirements to Anhui University for international students. The applicant for doctoral degree studies is required to be usually under the age of 45; the applicant for master’s degree studies is required to be usually under the age of 40; the applicant for bachelor degree studies is required to be usually under the age of 25;

3)      Be excellent in studies and have not obtained any other scholarships.

4.      Application Date

Every year at the beginning of March School of International Education issues the Scholarship application notice on the website (http://sie.ahu.edu.cn). Applicants must post or hand over the documents required to the admission office of School of International Education of Anhui University within 60 days since the issuing date.

6.      Application Documents

1)      Application Form for Study at Anhui University

2)      Application Form for Anhui University Scholarship

3)      Photocopy of passport

4)      Highest degree certificates, which must be original documents or notarized copies. If applicants are university students, they shall provide an official pre-graduation certificate showing their student status and stating expected graduation date, and provide original degree certificate or notarized copies after admission. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized translations in Chinese or English.

5)      Academic transcripts, which must be original documents or notarized copies. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized translations in Chinese or English.

6)      Photocopies of language (Chinese or English) proficiency certificates. Applicants for Chinese-instructed programs must provide the photocopy of HSK certificate. Applicants for English-instructed programs must provide the certificate of TOEFL or IELTS test score (not required for English native speakers).

7)      Personal statement, in Chinese or English, should include study and work experience, reasons for application and study proposal.

8)      Two letters of recommendation from full professors or associate professors (for postgraduate studies), in Chinese or English. Professors’ signature, contact phone number and email address must be put on the letter.

* The incomplete application documents will not be processed.

Documents below are not obligatory:

9)      Form for Provisional Acceptance of International Student by Professor of Anhui University (for postgraduate studies).

10)   Published academic papers or other academic achievements. Documents that can demonstrate academic achievement or research ability, such as the publication cover, back cover, catalog, scanned copyright page, scanned copies of thesis title, abstracts and texts, scanned copies of award certificates, etc. After the admission the original documents shall be reviewed.

These application documents will not be returned no matter the application is accepted or not.
